Alumni Council Grants support fellow-to-fellow initiatives that benefit local communities. Supported by alumni donations, they bring Loebs together to accomplish meaningful work.

2023 Grant Project:

Back to Square One: Re-imagining O’Bryant Square

Randy Gragg ‘06 led a team to develop interim designs for one of Portland, OR’s downtown plazas. The goal was to understand what the community wanted and to use short term interventions as a laboratory to shape a permanent future design.

2021 Grant Project: The House of Wise Words

See what Rob Lane and Jim Brown (both ‘09) accomplished along with many many others during a three-day workshop to develop a planning and design strategy for the House of Wise Words, a public bilingual elementary school in Tijuana.

  • Damon Rich ‘07

    Southeast Philadelphia, PA. A neighborhood summit to advance the Mifflin Square Plan, and with Loeb support, demonstrate the broad benefits of this type of collaborative approach. ($5,000)

  • Arif Kahn ‘16

    Wallkill, NY. Borden Estate -- preservation/activation of an historic estate, with community benefits, and will augment support provided through the Collaboratory. ($4,500)

  • Kathleen Fox ‘02

    Inclusive Housing Initiative for Central Ohio This project will seek to advance the cause for Affordable and Inclusive Housing in Central Ohio. This project also received support from the Collaboratory. ($4,500)
