Gene’s book, Freedom to Discriminate: How Realtors Conspired to Segregate Housing and Divide America, released in September, has earned a prominent spot among the list of recent books uncovering the history and persistence of racist housing policies in the United States. The book focuses on how realtors organizations, especially in California became helped the discrimination of federal policies become common practice.
