Glenn LaRue Smith ‘97
Glenn began his spring term as a Mellon Fellow in Urban Landscape Studies at Dumbarton Oaks. Architects. He is chronicling the cultural climate, areas of practice, and significant accomplishments of Black graduates of landscape architecture programs in the United States.
Glenn’s project, including his research on Edward Lyons Pryce, the Black landscape architect who preserved the Tuskeegee Institute , was featured in a recent issue of Metropolis.
Glenn is the founder of the Black Landscape architects Network, which has unveiled a new scholarship named after Pryce for Black undergraduate and graduate students.
