50th Anniversary Oral History Project

This year marks a historic milestone for the Loeb Fellowship: its 50th anniversary. Due to the pandemic, our plans for an in-person reunion and celebration this fall have been deferred. This circumstance gives special importance to a new initiative: an oral history project designed to capture the story of the Fellowship as told by its Fellows, curators, and staff.

Chris Barley, Emily deGrandpre*, and Barbara Epstein make up the Oral Histories team. They hope to have your voice among the stories.

They are interested in what was most meaningful for you—personally and professionally—about your Fellowship year, your experience as an alumna/us, your vivid memories, the impact of the Fellowship on your work.

There are several ways you can participate in this oral history project:

  • Click here to record a memory that will be automatically sent to us

  • Send your written reflections via e-mail to loebstories@gsd.harvard.edu

  • Record a voice memo on your phone and email it to loebstories@gsd.harvard.edu

  • Mail a written reflection to the Loeb Fellowship, Harvard GSD, 48 Quincy St., Suite 504, Cambridge, MA 02139

All stories submitted will become part of the Fellowship’s archive, and many will be shared with Loeb Fellows and the public as part of our 50th celebrations.

*Chris and Emily are part of Consortia, a research and strategy office that has been hired by the Loeb Fellowship to lead this project.
